Walton's Mountain Lodge is located in a forested setting above the historic town of Manitou Springs, CO. Manitou Springs, situated just west of Colorado Springs at the base of 14,110 ft Pkes Peak, is Southern Colorado's gateway to the Rockies. The city hosts or is in close proximity to a number of natural and civic attractions, including the Pikes Peak cog railway, Barr Trail (a 13 mile foot trail to the top of Pikes Peak), and the Pikes Peak highway, an auto road to the summit. Manitou Springs is also home to the Manitou Cliff dwellings, a realistic Anasazi Indian pueblo-style home; Cave of the Winds, an underground natural caverns with stalactites and stalagmites. Other area attractions are the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the US Air Force Academy, and the Garden of the Gods.
